Religious Experience is a
component of Religious studies AS and A2 levels. It is found in AQA’s syllabi,
RSS03 and RSS04, and in OCR’s syllabus,
G572. This book covers the spectrum of issues involved in Religious Experience,
such as its various types and the theories advanced to explain it. Candidates
can use this book to support their studies in this aspect of the syllabi
mentioned above.
Religious Experience provides an introduction to and discussion points on the main types of religious experience and will enable students to obtain an overall grasp of the subject matter. It looks at the different kinds of religious experience and the different channels or occasions for religious experience. It discusses the views of some significant thinkers such as Freud and Swinburne and also discusses religious experience in the context of the major religions.
Throughout the book are exercises/activities for the students to complete. These can form the basis for written homework or for group discussion in the classroom. Religious Experience is available as a copiable spiral bound book or on CD Rom.
