This book will expand a student's knowledge and listening skills through applying a structured approach to the subject. The book is suitable for both GCSE and Key Stage 3 pupils, and is written as a complement to existing music teaching resources.
The main body of the book describes the history of western music from 1200 today, and world music, and for each category sets out the characteristics of the music and the instruments used. It is thus a concise revision guide. There is also a section on listening activities followed by some revision quizzes.
