One sale to parents for every £1 spent
Imagine you could sell a product to parents
and the cost of marketing was just £1 for every item sold.
Such a cost is so unbelievable you would
laugh. It sounds like one of the crazy
adverts you get via email. Make a
million dollars a day selling soap.
Normally when selling through direct mail,
if you are doing particularly well you might expect your marketing costs to be
somewhere between £10 and £40 for every sale you make.
Yet here we are saying you can make sales to parents that cost you more
like £1 each.
And that £1 includes everything the
salesperson, the promotion, everything.
It doesn't matter what you compare this with, a marketing cost of £1
per sale is beyond belief.
And you probably won?t believe it until you
realise two points.
- Firstly, that the article that sets out how
this is done is written by Tony Attwood, one of the foremost authorities on
selling via direct mail.
- And secondly, the report not only tells you
have this is done, it also includes case studies of both successes and
failures. Because Tony is not trying to
say, 'do this and you will always make a profit', but rather, 'this is a very
interesting situation' but one slight deviation from the proscribed path will
make it all go wrong.
This is a balanced, clearly written review
on selling via direct mail to parents, comparing traditional methodologies with
a new approach which first emerged in 2003.
